Some moments just stay with you and this one? I’ll be holding onto it forever.


I had the absolute honor of capturing a surprise proposal for my best friend since high school, Cristina, at the beautiful Dallas Arboretum. And when I say she didn’t see it coming – I mean it!


I secretly drove four hours from Houston to Dallas just for this. Meanwhile, I was casually texting Cristina throughout the day, pretending I was still at home so she wouldn't suspect a thing. Sneaky? Maybe, But worth it 1000%.

Once I arrived at the Arboretum, I was tracking their location and coordinating with Robert to make sure I didn’t accidentally cross paths with them too early. I was literally ducking behind hedges at one point just to stay hidden until the big moment.


Now for the story. Cristina and Robert are college sweethearts one of those couples that just gets each other. When Robert reached out to me to help plan the proposal, we knew we had to make it special and personal. He started the afternoon with a cozy lakeside picnic, and then as sunset approached he led her on a stroll through the Arboretum gardens. As they approached the fountain (our secret photo spot), got down on one knee!


And Cristina? Completely stunned. She was so caught in the moment she didn’t even realize I was there, camera in hand. She was still trying to process the proposal when she looked up, spotted me and her whole face lit up. Her jaw dropped, and she gasped, “Wait… you’re here?!”

We both burst into laughter, and yes, maybe a few happy tears were also shed. It was pure magic!

But the surprises didn’t stop there. Robert had planned a beautiful dinner right after with all of Cristina’s closest friends and family waiting to celebrate. She walked into a room full of love, hugs, and happy tears. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.


The vibe was effortlessly chic and cozy. Cristina wore a cream sweater, jeans, and boots simple, beautiful, and totally her. The fall colors, golden hour light, and stone fountain created the most dreamy, romantic backdrop for a moment they’ll never forget.


Why this meant so much to me: This wasn’t just a shoot. This was my best friend’s proposal. Getting to not only help plan it but capture every second of the surprise? I still get goosebumps thinking about it.
